The teaching focus of An Foras Feasa, the Humanities Institute at Maynooth University is on Digital Humanities.

DH is a fast growing dynamic interdisciplinary field at the cutting edge of 21st century research methods. It melds practices and traditions from the various disciplines of the humanities, computer science, information management, design, cultural and heritage studies.

Both the Masters and the PhD degrees are designed to introduce students to the theories and methods in digital humanities scholarship. The modules are designed to provide both a historical background and theoretical grounding to the field while providing students with solid skills in contemporary digital methods and technologies.

Students studying Digital Humanities at Maynooth University will have access to An Foras Feasa’s state of the art digitisation lab and world-class teaching and learning spaces. Faculty from across the University collaborate with An Foras Feasa, providing a wealth of opportunities for students to study and learn in a collegial interdisciplinary environment.  Students have ample opportunities to work with partner cultural heritage institutions and on AFF’s wide array of digital humanities projects. There is also a robust lecture and seminar series which students are encouraged to attend.

We are hosting an Open Day for our MA in Digital Humanities and our PhD in Digital Arts and Humanities on Tuesday 14 April 2015 at 12pm. Click here for more details.
